SPONSOR:The Latino American Association of Monmouth County is a non-profit organization that strives to stress the civic responsibility within and among the residents of our community.We firmly believe that nothing is more important than providing a solid educational foundation for our youth.We provide financial assistance to college bound students within MonmouthCounty in support of advanced education which will enhance our quest for “A collective effort, building towards the future.”
ELIGIBILITY:The applicant must be:
(a)a graduating senior who has been accepted to a post secondary school, or a student who is registered for six (6) or more semester credits at BrookdaleCommunity College
(b)a MonmouthCounty resident
(c)a student who is ofLatino first or second generation descent
(d)a student with a grade point average of at least 3.0
(e)active in extra-curricular activities, and/or work experience
CRITERIA:Follow directions explicitly. Submissions, which are incomplete or postmarked after the deadline, will be ineligible for consideration.
The application packet must include the following items which will be considered in the selection of the scholarship winners.
1.An official school transcript
2.Two (2) letters of recommendation
3.Latino American Association Scholarship Application (including narrative)
4.A copy of letter of acceptance to post secondary school (for HS students)
